.nl tld domainname registrations: 50% off

Our special offer for .nl domainname registrations. During this week we give 50% off on all domainname registrations!

A .nl domainname registration includes free DNS pointed to your DNS servers (must be setup before registration, you need 2 or 3 DNS servers) or free DNS hosting on our three stable DNS servers, hosted on 3 different networks. DNS hosting on our servers includes free web-based access to a DNS administration tool.

With 50% off the setup/registration fee will be:
One-time setup fee: EUR 7.50
Annual registration fee: EUR 8.75
Total: EUR 16.25 (about $18)

You can register your domainname at http://www.activedomain.nl/apply.pl

If you don't understand the Dutch language, don't hesitate to send your order by e-mail to info@activedomain.nl. Please also state in your e-mail your name, address, city, country information, the domainname you want to register and your payment method (wire transfer or creditcard - 2,5% transaction costs will apply for credit card transfers). Please do not send your credit card number by e-mail!

Don't you have to live in Dutch to order a Dutch domain name? OR wherever NL is located?

Like be a US citizen to order a .US name. Or am I just plain wrong?

Since January or February (I'm not sure which month) people and companies outside the Netherlands are also allowed to register .nl domainnames on their own name (before this year people/companies outside NL had to register the domainname on the name of the ISP).

Still a Dutch address is required as contact address, but ISP's are allowed to list their address as contact address for the domainname. We do this service for free for our international customers.

No offence, but why bother when you can get a much more commercial .com for $6 if you look around? Also, a set-up fee?! On a DOMAIN! I thought they went the way of the dinosaurs

jack_monkey: because some companies might want to resell .nl domainnames or register a .nl domainname to get more Dutch clients. And many large companies register their company name on almost all TLD's (like Microsoft).

Edit: and there are also Dutch visitors on this forum. Most Dutch companies do want a .nl domainname

Why don't you investigate more on the fees SIDN applys to its members. They also calculate a setup fee which is very normal for some TLD's.

And .nl does have more power in the Benelux then .com or what so ever.

You might have a look of the rules of these forums. Advertisment forums are not the place for comments about the offered product. If you don't want it ... why bother the posting?

Cybje,

I'm dutch and I'm interested. However: why would you want to ask a setup fee on .nl domains? I know quite a bit about the SIDN and they do not charge a setup fee to you. If you can cut (or lower) the setup fee, I'm sure we can work something out.

Apoc: because of the 'registration contract' it costs time for administration to register the domainname. Because we still want to make profit, we have to ask a setup fee. Or we can make the annual fee higher, but that is more expensive for our clients. Also creating all software (like the DNS administration software) costs a lot of work, which we can't do for free of course.

I'm sorry, but I can't make the prices lower than posted in this thread.

Edit: I re-checked the SIDN website, they still do ask a setup fee.
