    Domin being witheld

I am member of another forum and they put thier site in the showcase section, when I asked why they were using Vistaprint they said because they will not release thier domain name and they want to keep it.

Is there anyway to get the domain back (out of interest).

I'm confused. Somebody posted a site on a forum but hid the domain somehow?

Vistaprint? Not familiar with the term, apart from the card printing company.

Sorry if I totally missed the point, but I don't get the question?

No they cannot move away from Vistaprint if they want to use the same domain name, vista print also do tacky websites/stores where you have to use paypal buttons.

They also charge you extra aparently if you want to remove thier banner from the bottom of your site.

    http://www.vistaprint.com/websites.aspx

With Vistaprint you pay a monthly fee for a templated website that comes with a free domain. Check a WHOIS, I'm sure the domain is in Vistaprint's name. The current owner would have to get the domain registered in his own name before he can transfer it to you.

yes your right it is in their name, when will people learn not to use such sites or at the very least register the domain and keep it elsewhere.
