Question Preview site using ip/~user not working

    Hi

I just upload a index.php and one file.html with simple valid code to test using the ip before change the nameservers like this:

    Code:
http://123.456.789.000/~userx (userx is the cpanel account name)
    also as

    Code:
    http://123.456.789.000/~userx/file.html
    And i am getting this:

    Code:
    404 Not Found

The server can not find the requested page:

        123.456.789.000/~userx (port 80)
    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi,
Is this a cPanel server ?
Seems like mod_userdir Protection is in place

Then you just need to disable the mod_userdir protection if you want the ~ to work.
Go to WHM - Security Center -> Apache mod_userdir Tweak (disable and you are good to go)

Keep in mind that with mod_userdir off you may have users trying to steal your Bandwidth

Default PHP Version (.php files) 5
    PHP 5 Handler fcgi

    Apache suEXEC off
    Apache Ruid2 off

    I can't preview a simple index.html file

Ok i got it working for the index.html

But when i try to load a simple hello word php script is not running and i am getting this:

    Code:
    Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Providing the solution you have may help the next person. Rather than "it's fixed now", perhaps you could share it?

    I am sorry

Something was wrong with this edit:

Go to WHM - Security Center -> Apache mod_userdir Tweak (disable and you are good to go)

I did it for second time and then works.
