If you're registering a few domains or reselling I suggest you go take a look at http://resell.biz
I personally use them for myself.

I recommend you internetbs and namecheap.
They both are good, namecheap is not the cheapest but their services are good

Just my 2 cents.
Be sure to deal with ICAN-accredited Registrar in order to be sure that your domains will not disappear.

Damn I also thought there was a universal price for domains and it was just hosting that varied in price (by a fair bit).
I think I ended up paying like $8 for a .org domain

I really like Dynadot.com. Good prices if you are spending $500 or more per year, with additional break at $5000 per year.
The site is also very good at managing domains in bulk. I have several thousand domains so this is critical.
Moniker is also good, but pricing is not as competitive as Dynadot.

Another vote Namecheap and Internet.bs. They're both reliable domain name registrars and have used them for a while now. Namecheap provides free Whois privacy only for a year while Internet.bs gives it for free for life, that's if do you need Whois privacy protection.

GoDaddy is ridiculously expensive if you want whois privacy. I also refuse to click through page after page of sales pitches. And finally, I like elephants and dislike SOPA, so GoDaddy can drop dead.
I agree with the upstream positive opinion on InternetBS.
