For Sale: 15-bay 3U SATA storage server, Supermicro SC933T-R760, Areca 1160 RAID6
Hi guys,
We're moving over to high-density two-sided SAS storage servers, and our trusty SATA-based servers need a new home.
Supermicro SC933T-R760 (3U, black, 15 hotswap SATA bays)
Supermicro H8DAE (Dual-socket Opteron 2XX motherboard)
AMD Opteron 265HE (Dual-core CPU, low voltage)
4GB DDR-400 Registered ECC RAM (4x 1GB)
Areca ARC-1160 RAID card with battery

The server comes without hard drives, but it does include the hot-swap carriers, and everything else is hooked up and ready to use. Just add drives.
The empty chassis sells for about $750 new. The RAID card also goes for about $750 new, plus $100 for a battery. The CPU/MB/RAM is more than powerful enough for mass storage purposes, and the whole system is ready to add drives and boot up.
Bids start at $800. BIN (Buy It Now) is $1200. Bidding ends at the conclusion of Monday, August 9, GMT time zone. Please post your bids here so that others can see them.Last edited by bqinternet; 08-03-2010 at 05:01 PM. Reason: corrected end date

To clarify, we do have multiple available (7 now, 8 more soon), but this auction is for a single server.
If you'd like to name a price for a lot of 10, feel free to email me separately at scott@bqinternet.com. We're willing to do a good discount to avoid the hassle of selling them individually. They've been great servers, but we need the rack space for new servers. They're located in New York City in mid-town Manhattan, or they can be shipped.Scott Burns, President

After additional thought, the BIN has been lowered to $900.

These servers used 2.5A @ 120V when we had them fully populated with 7200RPM SATA drives. The low-voltage CPU helps to keep it reasonable.
The auction is over, but we still have multiple servers available at the $900 BIN price, and we're willing to discount it for anyone that wants more than one.Scott Burns, President

Sure, if anyone wants to buy them in pairs, I would be fine with $1500.
I want to add that these servers are guaranteed to arrive in working order. If for some reason it doesn't work, just send it back, and we'll refund the money.Scott Burns, President
