Affordable vps for personal data back up??

    Hi all,

So what's a reasonable service or vps with a decent amount of disk space that I can rent to store files on for temporary.

Does anyone know of such service or server I can use to back up my data from my mac??

How could I encrypt data from my mac then upload to a application on a server or service??

    Thanks a lot much appreciated.

If you trust something like Dropbox or Google Drive, they're $10/month for 1TB of storage. Both of them are encrypted, Google is even HIPAA compliant, and they're encrypted. In terms of ease and effort, those two would be the simplest and cheapest to get up and running.

Mega.co.nz gives you 50Gb for FREE and is quite respectable.

IT gives you the posibility to encrypt everything and needs a decryption key to be able to be downloaded and the plans go to TB storage for really low prices.

+1 for dropbox. For personal data backup this is the best ,cheap and very easy method. Also you will be able access your data from anywhere using your smartphone or tablet. Its 1000 times more easier than a vps. 1TB of space in just 9.99$ is just great.

If you are looking for the cheapest solution, hubiC offers 25GB for free and 10TB for 10€. For a server, VPSDime and Backupsy have quite affordable storage servers.

If you're looking for a bit more customization, then maybe look at Backupsy. Full fledged VPS with lots of storage. Used them for a few months and it was worth it.

OZibox gives 100 Gb free space and unlimited bandwidth.3

    http://www.ozibox.com/

It is a Good alternative to dropbox and Google drive. You will get access to API access of Ozibox , where as dropbox had stopped it few years ago.

BuyVM.net also provides budged VPS which you can use for storage purposes. Also, you can look at SecureDragon.

    CHECK AMAZON SERVICES!
Glacier or S3 are very cheap and great services
The only drawback is you'll need an script or buy some software to make automated backups.

I use Cloudberry Backup but there are a few for free.

Copy.com give by default 15GB for free. If you use someone's invitation to open account you get 5GB extra.
And if you share your own invitation with others you get for every new account/member additional 5GB. It's pretty easy to get several 100GB that way.

Btw does copy.com provides a FTP server or it's just like dropbox / google drive? Can it be integrated into WHM for remote backups ?
