    Favorite Forum script

So I saw an older post regarding this and I was wondering on everyone's viewpoints. PhpBB, SMF, IPB, VB, or BBPress?

IMO, PHPBB. Simply because its supported by the community, and the community is very nice and very large (so it's not going to die anytime soon). It's proven to be rock solid, stable (not that the other's arent), Very widely used, Very large Mods DB and Styles DB, i can go on and on. So my vote is phpBB

From my experience, I consider vB as best, in sense for security, installation and tweaking. Though I always liked phpBB for its simplicity, just hard to keep it error-free, updated.

I will consider this point than any of above forum.

that is one issue with phpBB is the errors stuff when modding it, you need to know what you're doing when customizing (or should i say customising it )

I'm a big lover for anything Open source and really suggest it above paid software. (Yep, I'm a Linux user )

phpBB 3.1 is suppose to include hooks in the code which is going to be soooo much better than the current mod system, hard editing is to be looked down upon, only if they put enough hooks in the right places

XenForo but it's not one of the poll choices.

vB wins from miles if compared to others however IPB is not behind also and gives a tough competition to vB. However, with all the goodwill that vB has created in those recent years, its hard for IPB to now take over the vB market. Also the experienced forum users are brand loyal with vB.

My vote goes to phpBB. It is by far the best free forum software available. But if I were to choose a commercial software, I'd go with vBulletin.

+1 for xenforo. Working on transferring my second forum over as we speak -- couldn't be happier after switching the first one.

For free board I won't go pass PHPBB, however I have used MyBB before and it is quite nice.

For paid I won't go pass invision but I think it a little too big on how it use the server RAM and CPU.

Currently I've been hanging around IPB. Free would be MyBB.
    Nothing here right now.

+1 for PHPBB. I have never had any problems with it (also great community support)

I've tried MyBB, and I like how modifications work (the plugins system), but I still like phpBB better, and a plugins system is coming to phpBB 3.1
