RapidSwitch announced today extension of its London and Amsterdam network into Berkshire, connecting to the two Blue Square facilities at 10 gigabit speeds. These lightning-fast links enable content providers to host rich, interactive media in Blue Square Data's high power density data centres in Maidenhead. RapidSwitch has an extensive London network with two sites currently lit at 10 gigabit, Telehouse North and TelecityRedbus Sovereign House.

Speaking about the move, RapidSwitch Managing Director Ed Butler commented, "As the quickest growing and best connected hosting service provider in the UK, we have to keep ahead of market trends. Our clients are currently crying out for two things: power and bandwidth. The existing colocation sites in Docklands are almost full, and there are very few sites outside Docklands that are well connected. We have solved this problem for our clients by adding three dedicated 10G links to our network to connect BlueSquare's new facilities."

Stuart Manby, Sales Director of BlueSquare said, "This is an exciting time for Blue Square and RapidSwitch. With our existing facility almost at full capacity we have been able to bring forward our expansion plans by 12 months this has allowed us to bring to the market a further 8000 square feet of which a large chunk has already been secured. The market as a whole is experiencing significant growth and this expansion allows both Blue Square and RapidSwitch to provide further space to its new and existing Client base."
