    Dedicated Server streaming to AU

    Hi all,
I have been doing some research but am still unclear where is the best place to get a dedicates server to stream video to Australia. This is meant to be a private server with only around 20 people with access to it and it will mostly run some server side applications which should in general sit idly for most of the time. It is somewhat important to get a decent amount of storage tho.

At the moment I have a server with Hetzner which looked like an awesome deal at 40EUR/month for an i7 2600, 6Tb storage, gigabit connection, 16gb ram. However speeds have proven to be less than ideal to my internet provider (unsurprisingly). Is there anywhere that would rival those specs at similar prices? This is really more of a learning experience so ideally the budget should remain low, say nothing over 100 bucks a month?

There no have low prices in Australia like in Germany. You can found tons of servers in australia or cloud servers in Australia but prices are least 50% expensive than in Germany.

That's a great price, however you will find better connection on the US west coast to AU the only down side is you will have to raise your budget.
    Respectfully,
    Mr. Terrence

I know that is why I am looking outside of Australia. Prices here are just so inflated which I believe are a consequence of the crappy infrastructure.

I know I was surprised too and incredibly disappointed that I am not getting slightly better speeds otherwise I would be 100% satisfied. How much would I need to raise it by? Could you indicate a plan that is similar?

Feel free to browse the offer section for US west coast providers: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36

Make sure you do some research before choosing a provider, good luck with you search.

Some west coast data center are expensive, but most of them are strategically located to major transit hubs. If you are able to come to the US please see if you are able to negotiate a good price regarding your needs.

I live in Sydney and I can confirm that LA based servers are reasonably fast and ping is around 160ms for me. Otherwise it depends on your usage... For $100 a month you can get a server here with lower specs and usually low ping, lower than 30ms.
Singapore is another good option by the way.

Sometimes it might even be easier to get a better internet connection, I'm sure you don't need me to remind you how bad the Internet in Australia is.

SL may have servers in AU (Melbourne) but they are not going to meet the OP's budget of less than $100 per month!
