What is your policy on spam hosts?
Sorta a strange question but I'm trying to work with a hosting company usware.net where a website they host spammed our message board. well the user made 3 posts before i bannned him and moved the messages to a host only section. I kindly explained that a user was posting unsolicited ads for his/her site on our message board and becuase I moved the posts to a host only section i could not provide public links to the content so I took a screen shot of messages for proof. what do i get as a reply today? request for an email header!
I'm just looking to see what most hosts consider as spamming(unsolicited advertisement)? Is it just email or do you consider other forms such as usenet, bbs, message boards/forums, guestbooks, etc...

I'm not sure if making a couple posts to a bulletin board qualifies as spam for most hosts. Most hosts probably could care less, since it's not really affecting their service at all -- unlike mail spammers. Mail spammers use tons of bandwidth & server resources, so it's in the hosts best interest to get rid of them ASAP.

yea that's what i've come to find dealing with many hosts about this type of issue. I just wish hosts would help to crack down on this.

What you deescribed is not truly spam. It's one of many misapplications of the term. Call it plugging or just plain unwated advertising, it is not spam. It is also not the province of hosts to punish for this type of posting.

USWARE.NET
I am currently hosting with them. They (he?) is so bad that I am going to dive into doing my own hosting and not have to worry about the problems.
