    VOIP Phone systems

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on voip office phone systems and any that are recommended.

    Thanks for your time

Yup, Asterisk is great (so I've heard from other small business owners I speak with). I'm going to be doing an install here myself.

I'm currently running a TalkSwitch 48 (great unit for $1,000...and very easy to setup)

Thanks guys for the tips but I was looking more for something like www.packet8.net or something along those lines. We have a regular 800 number now but with the mainstreaming of voip this option looks even more attractive..

Yea, definitely pros and cons with each approach approach. If you're looking to get a system up and running quickly (as in 24 hrs) I would go with a service like packet8.net...however, depending on what you're looking to do (offer extensions, custom voice mail boxes, voice mail to WAV email attachment, etc) then I would go with Asterisk...up to you though!

I would definitely recommend Asterisk. It's a great, open-source product with an unbelievable featureset. It's fairly easy to set up, as well.
