Where should the server be located?

    price range

I received a private message from someone offering a Windows 2000. I want to add that my server should strictly run windows nt 4 and no other nt platform. The reason for this is because the irc server I am planning to run was coded for the NT platform and its stability depends on it.
www.sagonet.com is offering me a 1.8 Ghz Celeron , 512 Mb ram, server for $85, so anything qual or lower than that would be my price range. Thanks.
Preferably with no set up fees.,

    loc

It doesn't matter where the server is located, as long as it provides a fast worldwide connection.

I know this is offtopic; but I would like to ask why you chooise to run the exchange chat service..instead of any other IRCD.

there are even other (better) alternatives for ircx servers.
    (linux based)

    This is one of them.

Is the reason for this all, the ircx protocol?

I know for a fact that the exchange chat server, still has some serious nasty bugs/exploits, whom have not been fixed due to ms not updating it anymore.

Also, I not all clients are compatible using the ircx protocol ..
but this all depends on what your plans are with this.

    edit; added some extra text.

    yes

exactly, mooircd is not complete ircx though, it's lacking some important features and commands. I will take a look though.
