Migrating wordpress content is not hard, it just takes a far amount of time.

Fortunately I was able to get fatcow to give zip up a backup of my website from August 6th. That was before I installed any malicious plugins, so I'll be good to go.

Beyond that, a VPS isn't always a step 'up', more often than not going with a higher quality provider (or a higher-end plan) is often a much larger improvement than going from shared->vps.

Is JaguarPC not a high quality provider? (almost) Everything I've seen about them seems positive.

cPanel is only $5 with my coupon which, I believe, provides that price for life.

They already have my money so I'm just hoping for the best.

I'm not speaking about their quality in general, but what you receive for what you pay.

That may be what they charge you, but that may or may not be what they pay. For example, providers that offer "Free WHMCS" with their reseller plans - they don't get those licenses for free, but they do built it into the price of the plans.

Please keep in mind that not all cPanel partners receive the same pricing. We have been with them for a very long time (in business since 1998). We know what we are doing and our prices more than cover the cost to provide awesome service. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

This is correct as well, about pricing - which is why I didn't say it *definitely* was $10/license, but that's what it averages from what I've seen.

It's quite possible they have much lower pricing - but even still, $24/month for a VPS with those specifications (not including cPanel) is still a pretty darn amazing deal that would make me leery.

This being said, I have used JaguarPC before (for a dedicated server) and enjoyed the service while I had it.
