    Outsourced server management

I'm just curious to see how much outsourced server management would cost for basic services like server/service monitoring and restarting if necessary.

Can anyone recommend me some reliable and inexpensive companies that offer these services?

    It should be free!

We know about server outages before our clients and usually have the serv(ice/er) back online before they know, providing we have required access to the server.

Thanks Edwin. I did try the company you recommended but they seem to be offering pricey packages with more services than I need. I only need a basic server monitoring/restart service.

    Lyew,

I am not sure if this helps but perhaps you could sign up with a Monitoring Service such as :-

    http://www.websitepulse.net
    http://www.alertra.com
    http://www.easymonitor.com

Which could email/sms you when the server is down. Once that happens, you could either restart the server yourself (if it is reacheable) and if not, to contact your web host and have them do that for it. At least you be sure about the server status.
