Unfortunately wholesalecolo seems to be associated with a real spamhous - good luck getting IP's that aren't blacklisted by every anti-spam organization on the planet.

Wholesalecolo does not exist anymore as a company.

The website wholesalecolo.com belongs to webhosting.net now.

Webhosting.net has some cabinets in the LayerOne MiamiNAP, where we have our cage.

    Hello.

I've worked with Webhosting.net before, good team.

Webhosting.net has some cabinets in the LayerOne MiamiNAP, where we have our cage.
What relevance does this have to the original post?

    Wholesalecolo not just in LayerOne

    Well,

I am on the inside of most major things that happen in the hosting industry and I can tell you that WholesaleColo.Com/Webhosting.Net does have only a few racks at the LayerOne facility, but that is only one of their POP's. They also have a major presence in the NAP of the America's which is primo expensive and a super high class facility. If anyone has been there, they can't say anything bad about it. I believe that they also have a POP to Miami Datavault and will run P2P between all three locations. In addition, within the next 3 or so months they are opening a Canadian office and within the 3 or 4th quarter of the year they are opening a South African office.

I think this company has done a lot to revive Wholesalecolo.Com and I wish all the luck to them.

I know for a fact they are in both Layer1 and MDV, I don't know if they are at the Nap of the Americas, but I can say that after being there, that it has alot of "flash" but nothing that appears to make it "better" than any other facility. Especially when you consider their core could be taken out with a water gun shot between the plate glass that surrounds it.. Not to mention that their cabinet price is 2-3 times more than any other facility down here.

    Ya.

Try to break the snap glass. I dare you. And yes they are expensive, but their cabinets are 10' high, (63U) not 7' (42U).

I've been in there. The security cards after you go through 2 escorts will automatically let you in the zones that you are allowed to be in. Internal sensing, not only camera that is, will tell guards exactly where you are at all times. The cards you wear lock and unlock doors depending on clearance. Also, when you go through the front, there is a hologram of your company logo as you pass through the 2nd floor lobby, although I think they took it down for maintenance.

Also, it is Hurricane 5 proof..layer1 and MDV are 3.

I'm not talking about the snap glass. I 'm talking about the glass surrounding their core of Foundry gear that has 1" gaps between each sheet of glass, with their gear about 5' from it.. ;-)

I'm not saying the place is bad, I'm saying that it isn't worth the extra money. Not to me anyway. Like I said, 2-3 time as much. So you could have 80-120U for the same price as their 63U.

So if not wholesalecolo who to turn to for cheap cogent co-location that is reliable?

    Other providers

I spoke to the guys at wholesalecolo and they do Aleron for the same price I believe. There are a bunch of provider hitting low numbers these days for price per Mps.

And the glass with the 1 inch spacing IS Snap glass. Flick the switch and you see frosting. All around the interior, not just the board room.

    1. Wholesalecolo only exists as a domain name now.
This domain name now belongs to webhosting.net

    2. Wholesalecolo, and Wholesalebandwidth are not the same company.

Eric & Ashley Moore owned Wholesalecolo, before they closed it.

Shaun who recently sold Wholesalebandwidth, worked/partnered with Eric Moore originally to take care of the network.
And started Wholesalebandwidth, after Eric closed Wholesalecolo.

    How do I know this?

I was Eric's (Wholesalecolo's) first, and one of there larger accounts when he started.
And where a client of Shaun's until we built out our own network.

I agree, Wholesalecolo.com is NOT the same company as wholesalebandwidth. Btw. I know this because I signed up with them at the Nap of the America's about 1 month ago.

They hooked me up with a good bgp4 blend, the nap is more expensive than other facilities, atleast their power remains up. The nap are one of the only DC that can offer 100% uptime on power, and it also nice to know that verisign have one of the ROOT name servers there.

I have also located another server at layerone with them on cogent and have had no problems, a nice feature they offered me was to backup my content from the nap to layerone over fiber.

    dotcomkid?

Do you know what you are talking about?

    I don't think so.

You need to do your homework....before you give information.

You have the companies confused, and you don't even know what a category 5 building is. "NAP also, it is Hurricane 5 proof.layer1 and MDV are 3" Have you ever hear of an evacuation zone? Anything near or in downtown is.

I am at MDV and it's an old Bell South CO Cat. 5 building built in the 1920's. I got the engineering paper work from MDV (Bellsouth) and that was enough proof that you have no clue what you are talking about..
