Looking for a Job, I do a lot of Services.
Hello,
First of all, well, I'm 17 years old, almost 18, I'm a geek, so, don't think: Oh, he doesn't know how to do all this stuff .
Sysadmin -> I install everything that is needed,
Installing CPanel/Whm/Fantastico with the last released software
Installing any other control panels (If they have a readme file, I can do it )
Installing everything that is needed to run a server.
As well, Game Servers, CS, CS Source, installing mods, etc, but if you have another games than CS / Source, I'll learn it.
I also know to put Team Speak, and ShoutCast, and a lot more software, lol
Putting simple and easy use scripts, of psybnc and eggdrops, and can do others as well, but just simple .
Installing/Configuring IRCD's.
Basically...everything that you need me to do, I will do it.
I also know to solve some hard issues, heh :p
I'm known because I do a lot of different stuff, lol
Giving Support -> By WHMCS, for example, tech support / sales, or by email, or even, Live Support.
I also do translations Portuguese-English and from English to Portuguese
I'm trying to find some company to work with.
I'm from Portugal.
I also, don't ask too much, the reason for me to doing this, it's because I know that I can do this, I have capabilities, and a lot of available time, and I pay my own bills at my home...so, why not join to a serious Company?
Thanks, Miguel Varela.Last edited by the_pm; 03-03-2008 at 03:24 PM.

Again after 25 days... I have been contacted by several company's, but none has took me.
The majority were small company's, and what I'm looking for, it's a serious and big company, that needs people like me.
I'm always available to work, and I'm still looking for.
Thanks,
MrGeneral

I would suggest writing a formal resume, then offer to send it via eMail to interested parties. Also, to get my start in the Webhosting Industry I had to work for a bit of time as an intern. It will build your perceived experience and provide you with an industry-based reference. You should be able to find a paying job after you turn 18. Having a real resume would be a huge boon though. Good luck!

At the age of 17, I doubt many "big" companies will hire a highschool student.

Hmm, I'd suggest working for a smaller company to get some "real world" experience under your belt. It wouldn't hurt your resume for later on?

Well, I know, but at least I want to try.
Student life is hard...and I need to pay my own things..So, for that I have to get money

Maybe you can find something in a parallel industry. For example, I worked as a Sales Manager/Territory Manager for Dell Computers for a while. I was able to build on my sales skills in an environment that fostered my technical interests. I'm fairly sure any job can lead to personal growth that can be applied to a career in the Hosting Industry. Even McDonalds can 'learn you' a thing or two about customer satisfaction, working in a fast-paced environment and more.
I'm not suggesting you settle for less, rather I'm suggesting you work with what is available to you and focus on applying it to a future in the Web Hosting Industry.
Also, look for a part time internship. Seriously. Smaller companies will be willing to invest in your education and serve as a reference for you if you work hard and stay motivated.
