Better CPU E5-2620 vs E3-1275
Hi, I'm planning to rend a server. Following specs are available.
Intel 1275/ 16GB / 4x SAS 15k 300GB RAID 0/ Raid LSI with 512MB cache
Intel E5-2620 /16GB / 1x 180GB Intel 520 Series SSD
Both specs have almost same price.
Which config performance higher for joomla base websites on cpanel servers.

It depends on your requirements. E3-1275 can support lower amount of ram than e5, and e5 is hexacore instead of e3 which is quad core.
I would get 2x 180GB SSDs in RAID1 and go with second config.

The E3 is clocked much higher, so the CPU performance should be similar between the two servers. You will most likely get more speed from a SSD.

You will get better random reads with the SSD, and you have less chances of failure. If one of those 450 GB drives fails, you lose your entire array.

I would recommend getting the second SSD and doing RAID1.
While its a matter of preference, I would not ever recommend using a RAID0 on a server for anything except experimentation.

I would compare both processors on intels website. See which one performs better.
