I've found Teamviewer extremely easy to use with computer illiterate users.

We use Logmein Pro for support clients and Logmein Rescue for ad-hoc remote support.

Both products have worked reliably for us so far and Pro in particular help us monitor clients PC's proactively.

Team viewer is decent, and go to my pc might work as well. If both you and your client are on windows, you could just use Remote Desktop. That's how I fix my friends PC.

    Hello,
While Bomgar is great, it does require the purchase of the appliance (Physical or VM), both of which, you need to host.

LogMeIn Rescue is the way to go, they are still a bit pricey ~$1,100 per year per tech. They also do have a way to purchase by support requests but you need to contact sales for that.

I have used Teamviewer and find it very good for its purpose. You would need a commercial license as it is for a business and not for personal use.
You can find more details on the licenses available on Teamviewer's website.

You could try LogMeIn Pro but I have never used it myself

I've recently did a research trying to find the best webinar software for our company. Most of these applications allow desktop sharing. I've discovered two free websites (AnyMeeting.com and MeetingBurner.com) that offer many tools, don't require any software installation for participants, and might suite your purposes. Haven't tried them yet, but read some good reviews.

I came upon this thread because I've been trying to decide the same thing- of which remote support solution to use. Wikipedia seems to have a good comparison chart with some of the software I have demoed. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_remote_desktop_software

So far I've tried Teamviewer (have been using the free version for about a year), LogMeIn Rescue, ScreenConnect and Bomgar. It seems like most of the softwares are comparable in the feature set versus the price. I don't like that LogMeIn Rescue charges yearly- all of the others are one time fees. Also I don't liek that some upcharge for device support- ScreenConnect and Bomgar include this in their price.

Right now I think it is between ScreenConnect and Teamviewer. The pricing models seem to be more inline with what I'm looking for and they both perform well. Teamviewer is a bit more complex but I'm not sure I need everything it has to offer.

Have you tried Join.Me? That is LogMeIn's new screenshare software that I think is free.

Teamviewer is the best for you. And it is Free for Personal Use. You just need to input ID (some kind of IP Adress) and Password. Thats all.
