We have re-launched our web site with a new more simple web design, can I have your opinions?

    Old: http://www.beamhost.co.uk/index2.html

    Thank you.

I guess I am the only one who thinks the old one looks best....looks more professional to me. I guess it's because it's so much wording on the new one and no pictures.

The only thing I dislike is the light blue background, it doesn't match the rest of the site IMO.

Other than that, I like the simplicity of the site and how it's laid out.

The flash movie in your old design looks good. This is a hosting site. Being a fellow host I think the design should be crisp and should make the visitor a customer. For these visual Eye candy does the trick .A flash header makes the first temp better.
But I love CSS and you can do wonders with it.

The new site looks much better. Only thing is maybe make the navigation bar stand out a little more.

Why does a hosting site need flash?? I'm not a host, but being a customer I'd have to say that visual eye candy doesn't rate with me. I want to be assured that the webhost is a dependable, professional, corporate outfit. A corporate site does better than one with bells and whistles in my book.

    Cheers, Victor

I don't particulary want this to flame into a "flash V simple" debate, however I can understand everyones point of view. In particular for flash, I was thinking of introducing a flash logo (a smaller version of the old one).

Indeed, maybe that would add the "professionalism" that someone pointed out was lacking in the new look.

    I actually like both.
But my overall vote go to the new one. Easy and not too commercial

You got a very clean website. An example of how a corporate website can be. Simple and elegant.

    Two thumbs up.

"I think the design should be crisp and should make the visitor a customer"
um no, the sales copy does that, not visuals. that is proven. the visuals set the tone and enhance the identity and positioning of the company.

"For these visual Eye candy does the trick"
no it doesnt, flash has nothing to do with what the host has to offer or prices or service.

please DONT add flash to this. i am very pleased to see someone move away from those ridiculous templatemunster sites and do something good for a change.

    my eyes thank you.

    Maybe :-)

I'm still not 100% sure. Maybe a mix of the two would be perfect. Thank you all for your comments.
