Whk
I am writing this post for two reasons. First, my index is not showing up as the home page. It was working before, but then I changes some things and now it isn't working. I am positive it is in the correct directory, and it is named index.htm
you can see it at web-hosting-kingdom.com/index.htm
Do you think it is a problem with the server I am hosted on?

Tried renaming it to index.html?
You can also edit the file .htaccess (note the dot in the front) and add the following 2 lines, then save:
DirectoryIndex index.cgi index.shtml index.php index.html index.htm
Options -Indexes
The first line adds all sorts of extensions for the index file and the second line disables the listing of contents in the home directory.

In your "public" or home directory, the same folder that contains your index.htm file.
Here's an .htaccess tutorial:

Shouldn't this be in the "Technical and Security Issues" forum?

the dot in front makes the file invisible. How do you upload files?
