    Question About The Planet

What is the difference between the 4 plan(Total Control, Focus Series, Server Matrix, Insomnia 365)

Will i get fully managed server management if i take any one of the plan above? I know nothing about server and i just want to focus on my websites.

Im quite interested with the "Total Control" Dual Xeon 2.8, 2GB, 2 x 73GB SCSI, $289/mo. Anyone in this forum bought any package from them? Hope to hear from you.

Different server lines have different management plans included. You may need to purchase their management plans if you need them to help you manage your server depending on which server you buy.

Total control comes with Gold Plan.

    It is explained here: http://www.theplanet.com/services/up...vicePlans.html

I wouldn't say their gold management plan is what I would regard as a "fully managed" solution. It is still very much a reactive (as oppose to proactive) solution.

How do you defined fully managed?

Most of the stuff listed are simply a software in their client interface that they enable for you (such as vulnerability assessment, monitoring etc). Generally if you need help you can request and they will do it for you i.e it's reactive vs proactive. I personally have no experience with the professional services engineers and do not know what that do for you. But for 1 hour a month, you can probably get most of the work you needed done, although I have experiences where they overcharge on time. You ask them to do a simple thing that takes maybe 10 minutes and they will say they have used up an hour.

They have 4 levels of Managed Service and Gold is only the 2nd level. It is definitely not fully managed.

If you are looking for full, 100% fully managed I don't really think TP is the way to go. They are great if you have some basic skill, but for 100% complete?
