    Adding database to my website

I want to setup my website in a way that each time someone orders a product the number of the amount of product I have reduces, so that when I longer have that product, it will tell the buyer it's out of stuck.
Is there an easy way to do this? My hosting company is Godaddy my plan includes Mysql. Thanks.

You could use one of these shop programs:

    CubeCart http://www.cubecart.com/site/home/
    OS Commerce http://oscommerce.com/
    Zen Cart http://www.zen-cart.com/modules/frontpage/

They are found in fantastico if you have it as well or you can download most of them free and install them.

I would recommend osCommerce - it is included in pretty much all of the script installers out there, including Fantastico, and it is a very robust program.

With OsCommerce you can set out of stock items.

Plus a lot of hosts offer this as a part of the free spftware bundles... Not sure about GoDaddy though.

    Good Luck...

    osCommerce

most of the ecommerce sites have this function, but i think oscommerce is definately the way to go.. Its easy to use, has a great control panel, does pretty much everything for you, plus its one of the most popular out there, so you can get some really cool themes for it to personalize it

    hope this helps

I agree. I have used both CubeCart (even registered a copy) and osCommerce. To be honest, osCommerce beats CubeCart hands down. It is much more advanced and easier to setup. CubeCart is turning into a great product, but it is developed by only a couple of guys, not open source, so it takes quite a while to see updates.
