Hotlinking Issue
Hello Everyone,
I am trying to prevent hotlinking for my mp3 archive by adding htaccess file
The problem is that the script is communicating with mp3 archive directly and generating permanent links so if you search for "some" song it wil generate the link and the link will be valid forever
Usual htaccess method didnt worked for me,can you please suggest anything ?
Best Regards,
Namesniper

Block the offending servers IP from your's, then their script wont be able to communicate with your server, if I understand what you're saying.
But really, you shouldn't have an online MP3 archive.

Go to CPANEL , Hot link prevention certainly works.
Not only MP3s , AVI , WMV , MPEG all file links can be saved with htaccess.
Other wise using CPanel hotlink prevention create .htaccess file
[ No direct connection in the browser ]
Then create a subdomain subdomain.yourdomail.com
Put the same htaccess file to that subdomain and now you are safe.

The easiest way to do it is from cpanel just write the file types you want to prevent hotlinking and there you go..

if you want to save mp3 like files put both MP3 as well as mp3 in file type list to be saved.
