How Good is SwiftPanel?
Hello,
I am in a process of setting up TWO Dedicated Servers for one for COD4 and another for BattleField 2.
I was looking at various Game Control Panel and SwiftPanel looks good.
Anyone using it or used it?
Any cautions, suggestions, anything?
Also, do the above mentioned games perform better on Linux or Windows?
Also, is cPanel required on the TWO Dedicated Servers or just Linux will suffice? One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

hi
first up you dont need cpanel installed to run game servers.
swiftpanel should be able to control those servers for those types of games mentioned.
ive not used swiftpanel but ive posted on there forums in several places and noticed that they are quick and replying if that helps?
best bet would be that any questions you do have about the panel is ask them on there forum directly.

Thanks Flumps for your response.
I have put in a sales ticket with them and am in touch with them as of now.
Also, would Windows better or Linux for the above mentioned games? Also, does it make any difference which OS is used?
I know there is a thread there with Debate on. I just expect a small and to the point answer.
5% difference in performance is not going to affect me.
Thx in advance. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

swiftpanel
I have 2 servers with swiftpanel.
Before i had one server with tcadmin and windows.
The maximum number of frames per second is much higher in linux machine than with windows. (It was the same machine).
tcadmin is easier to administer and to interface with whmcs.
Donīt put cpanel on a game server.
Thank you,
Paulo Santos

You can run cPanel on some other server and then just run the cPGS (cPanel Game Server) on each of the machines that are hosting the games with little performance impact.

in all honesty, your better off with linux for many reasons.
less space + things running in background.
and its free!
TCA admin wont get you very far its a windows only panel.
if u need any help setting up a server just ask here on wht good luck with ur quest hehe.

if you do a google search for things like how to run a game server your proberly be shown the ssh commands so dont really need a game panel. its not hard to mantain a game server through ssh. however if you are hosting games for clients its always nicer to have a shiny user interface to control the server instead. so yeah you wont go wrong with swiftpanel good choice
