Proper way to write a Canadian address?

    What's the proper way.

If I send it like this, will it work?

That's how I write it. Canadians will figure it out though, don't worry about how you write it down.

    Name goes here,
    Address Line 1
    Address Line 2
    City, Province
    Canada, POSTAL

That's how I write mine; but as previously mentioned, the postal people will figure it out one way or another, so don't worry too much about it.

Here is the OFFICIAL word from the Canadian Post Office, eh?

    http://www.canadapost.ca/common/tool...-07-e.asp#c034

    Basically it's:
    ADDRESSEE INFORMATION
    DELIVERY ADDRESS INFORMATION
    MUNICIPALITY PROVINCE POSTAL CODE

    as in:

    MR J DOE
    123 MAIN ST APT 5
    OTTAWA ON K1S 1B9

Surprisingly, a properly formatted Canadian address has NO punctuation other than spaces! Guess they had problems OCRing things in the olden days.

Really, the only thing REQUIRED is Street Address and Postal Code. Being that the postal codes are unique, they can find out the city/province from that.

At any rate, I wouldn't worry too much about the format. Just get all the information on their legibly and that should suffice.

I writen to a few Canadian addys without putting "CANADA" on the last line and it got to them. The format between Canada Post and USPS is pretty much simular. Writing to Europe it gets a little confusing.
