IPs for Name Servers
Hi, is it normal for providers to give you 2 IPS to be used as the primary and secondary Name Servers? I've always entered a domain when entering them on the domain registrars. Would IPs work in place of a domain name for name servers?
I'm not referring to creating custom DNS or building nameservers. Thanks in advance.

No, you have to specify an actual nameserver (e.g. ns1.example.com), IP addresses cannot be used directly.

That's what I thought. Seems like they forgot to assign the IP to a domain for me to enter on the domain registrar.
