    crutches = sore armpits

    i severely sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago, and i've been using crutches to walk for the past few days. my armpits are really sore and i don't know how much longer i will be able to use the crutches! if you had this problem before, plz tell me how you dealt with it!

    Do you have towels on the tops of the crutches, because, you need those. WIthout it... ouch.

    Just kidding.
    They do have half crutches which are like canes with an arm brace. Maybe that would be a better solution for you.

    I think you're supposed to put your weight on your hands while using them, not on your 'pits. Most people don't though.

    Well, as I've always been explained, you're not supposed to use your armpits. The proper way to use the crutches is to hold them against your side, just below the armpit. Otherwise, you'll get sore armpits...as you are experiencing at present.
