I use them at 5 minute intervals. No sense filling up my stats with wasted page views

so did you mean a tracker to see your visitor info?

or a tracker to monitor your site's uptime?

Host-Tracker keeps tabs on your uptime at preset intervals.

As far as site visitors are concerned, doesn't your host provide that?

I believe he was asking the original poster what he wanted. It's not very clear in the first post. It just says tracker.

He refers to a free monitoring tracker, and usually that would refer to performance and/or uptime. Atfter all, just about all Web hosts I know about offer stats and a stat-reader, such as Analog, AWStats or a proprietary product.

Please delete my post. I don't want to argue with this guy.

Gene: Your the one making assumptions. I asked him what he wanted and you replied with some crap.

Actually he said, "Can you list the best free monitoring service websites you know ? Thank you."

At this point, let's stop the assumptions and let that poster figure it out and tell us what he or she wants.

So I'm not the only one using that logic. I guess it does depend on how "downtime sensitive" one is though.

These forums have made me paranoid. I never used to worry about this stuff, figuring all hosts had downtime at one occasion or another.

    i use
    host-tracker

    and unialert

if i had to take my pick between the two, i'd go with unialert. they only allow checks in 5 minute intervals but the reporting is thorough and the interface is easy to use.. plus it's free!
