Hello
How can i set the second plex on Windows 2008 R2 as default boot option?
I was try to change the boot order from msconfig but i am not able to change the boot order and every time that i restart the server i have to ask the Hetzner datacenter to provide me console acceess to it so i can select manually the second plex and boot.
Thank you

I know this isn't answering your question - however what's wrong with the primary plex?

In that case it's the copy of the data on the second disk.
The mirroring in the windows Logical disk manager is not just "raid1" but in fact it says
"This disk has 5000x4MB"
"This other disk has 5000x4MB"
"The user made a volume of 2000x4MB"
"User said he wants two copies of that volume (its really a bit different than a partition) and he selected which disk to mirror to"
"Okay! let's put first 4MB on first 4MB from disk 1. Ah, and a copy, right. 4MB on the other one too"
As this needs a middle layer between "volume" and "disk", people came up with the name "plex" - a plex is the amount of space it needs to house a whole volume, and it's kind of "snapped" into the volume.
0 available plexes - no space - volume is unavailable
1 available plexes - still one copy - volume is there and has a missing piece
2 available plexes - volume is happy.
Unfortunately M$ went the cheap/easy way while building this, this is why you can't just add 3 more mirrors to the same thing or quickly re-sync only changed data if a disk was pulled and put back in.
I'm not sure if you could create a mirror of a 1TB disk onto 2 500GB disks. normally yes.Check out my SSD guides for Samsung, HGST (Hitachi Global Storage) and Intel!
