Any data center near the Philippines?
Hi,
Is there a data center near the Philippines that accepts colocation?

You can check http://web.com.ph/ but no idea about their support and services you can investigate further for reviews.

One of the IDC I am using belongs to IPVG, you may want to check with them. Heard that they are quite big in the Philippines. But as above, PH and most Asian bandwidth costs are horrendous.

Try looking for one in Hongkong, Singapore, or Japan. If you can't find one, just colocate in the US.

Australia
I heard that connectivity in Australia was VERY pricey and controlled solely by government agencies. I was also told that there is not much bandwidth available as well.
I am actually interested if anyone can verify it. It is an island in the middle of nowhere after all.

Funny (or not so funny) about India...I'd never had a computer virus until a started working in India.
The deal with Asia Pacific is that it's even less efficient than the US market, which means higher pricing and fewer choices. But if you know where to look, you can find alternatives. Equinix is a good recommendation, as well as Global Switch, 1-Net, HKCOLO, SingTel, PCCW, KDD, NTT, etc.. Also, Internap have a decent offering around the region, for small footprints.
We are in the process of posting a free site finder and mapping tool at wiredre.com/data-centers. The site's in beta now, and we are adding locations daily, but I can tell you that AyalaPort and IP Converge are two (un-reviewed) alternatives in Makati, the financial center of Manila, Philippines.
The main issue about AP is knowing your network provider. Once you get past the cost, it's really important to do your traceroute testing. Routing in AP can surprise you.
Good luck.
