ThePlanet DDOS (Cisco Guard) does work actually

wow... I really have to say TP's Cisco Guard to protect against (D)DOS is fantastic:

One of our sites just got attacked with 50MBit+ malicious traffic that completely overwhelmed our 9 webservers... iptables couldn't help mitigate the attack.

Our last hope: ThePlanet's protection against these kinds of attacks. The moment the TP engineer turned on the Cisco Guard everything looked as if nothing ever happened... MAGIC.

the system (web+dbs) actually appeared 'idle', the only requests coming thru produced "- - 408 -" in the access.log
Mrtg showed 50M+ incomming traffic but close to 0 outgoing.
many ip_conntrack overflow messages (which I set to 65,000 or so)
