50 cent domains
No...not the rap artist.
The following was posted to Whirlpool:
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...s.cfm?t=373676
www.liveregistry.com is selling domains for 49cents but your must remember to put in the coupon bargain.
I have no connection with liveregistry, I just thought this was a pretty crazy deal and decided to share it with fellow whirlpoolians.
In short, for 49 cent domains:
Available: liveregistry.com
Coupon: bargain
Ends: 30/7/05

liveregistry.com is an eNom reseller, right?
Co-Founder @HostHideout. Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, @Nameslave unrepentantly embraces #Minimalism with a bias for functionality, color theory and pixel precision: a #multimedia messenger in the McLuhan sense. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management. He also likes Patrik Ervell, Wong Kar-wai and IKEA.

I'd say so looking at the backend (there's some of the default "insert your own witty text here" comments still in place). But it seems legit enough. *shrug*

Liveregisrtry.com? Never heard of before.
After domain hijacking @1und1.com I am very suspicious in registrars. That is a case with liveregistry.com, especially
(Offtopic)
when I saw that liveregistry.com web-site design is a MediaTemple.com rip, just like xnet.com is.Last edited by Fulk; 07-23-2005 at 12:23 PM.

I would be very careful, this registrar has to be making money in some other way if they are taking a $5.50 loss for every domain they register. They may lock you into their registrar, and charge an ungodly renewal rate.

There's also a whole bunch of liveregistry.com support tickets in the myacen forums. They require registration for it, so I'll just give you a little snippit from a thread:

is liveregistry.com TOTALNIC/PACNAME?
Those AU guys can not be trusted. The law there does not inforce anything at all.
But still, I will register some junk domains and never renew them.Trusted

check on eNom home page without signing in.
"Company" link doesn't work, "Contact us" leads to form page...
And whois data is protected by Whois Privacy Protection Service, Inc.
Is it making it better that it's a part of myacen or something? Their contacts are also only a form page where you can send them message, and whois data the same....
50c domains are probably always great but... hmmm what will be next?

We haven't cancelled any domain names, people that abuse the 1 per customer will be removed from our system and a refund issued.

For those people that doubt the offer then its simple don't use the coupon and don't sign up. We are not forcing anyone to signup, we are not adding any fees. The offer is a celebration of four years operations. Obviously something so cheap will cause some suspicion on our motives. But I'm happy to say we have no motives. If you want a cheap domain signup if you don't then don't signup it's really as simple as that

The 50c offer is not as suspicious (especially when only 1000 domains and one per customer) as your hiding information... privacy is good but not at this level... they say internet has no address :-) but internet company probably has got at least one :-)
Hiding it, together with terms and conditions, etc. is not very kind when people are using their credit cards to pay...
The same with solidinternet.com.... very solid also protected by Enom on whois data.
I am not sure if it helps Enom to hide their partners data....
All this makes people try scam sites all the time, because normally working companies (I hope) are not supplying the full data (adresses, terms, good support). So why scam sites have to give them?
