FTP not listing files and directories on all ftp accounts

Something really weird.. using any FTP client we can connect to the server, but it just hangs while listing all the directories, it seems to hang after the server response "227 Entering Passive Mode..."

Already tried /scripts/upcp --force and /scripts/ftpup --force without any luck.

One curious thing, on gFTP (linux) I just turn off Passive transfer and connected and it works very good. But, this is not a fix, I can not tell all my customers to disable passive mode if some hours before it was working fine on both modes, automatic and passive.

Logs don't show anything but login and logout once the ftp hangs. Im using RHEL 5.4 + latest Stable build.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    check these things

    1. try your ftp with passive mode off
    2. disable your local firewall
    3. disable your server firewall (for testing)

i am 99% sure that problem is related with iptables rules against ftp ports and also you need to check your ftp server configuration as well.
