Whatever, its such a small town I dont see why you care. If a majority of the people didnt want to do it then fine, you should care. But as it is I dont see anyone screaming blood. Its part of their celebration, not some long term state law thats going to be enforced. Just a little fun.

That is completely stupid. If I lived there, I would NOT grow a beard or even pay $10 for a permit. Personally, they can kiss my arse for something that stupid. Were the councilmen high or something?!?!

The rule would require those opting for the clean-shaven look to pay $10 for a permit.

    hahaha

Extortion. That's worse than living in some hick state like Louisiana.

How high do you have to be before you bring that idea to the table?

According to the article, it looks more of a humour type thing. Same time during the beard policy, they're also having a contest too.

If the rule passes, 636 men from the city and 24 from the township would have to go without a shave or buy a permit to abstain. About 35 percent of residents in the city and township are males older than 21, according to census figures.

'If' they passed it; it is unlikely they would enforce it.

Now if they said that women weren't allowed to shave, there'd be an uproar

I am from Michigan,. sure glad I don't live in Zilwaukee, MI

I seen this on the news last night and was flabergasted. There is no way they can enforce this.

I think the politicians have a little to much time on their hands in Zilwaukee

If the city is so in need of $6,000, why don't they just ask a philanthropist in their area?

At least you're not in Georgia, where our Governor tried to sue the Attorney General with a former Georgia Attorney General. Ridiculous, of course the current Attorney General won that case.

Shave, Don't pay, Take it to court if you have to.. Cases like this have been won before! It's an unconstitutional measure. The only weight a rule like this poses is to provoke the 'I don't care, I'll just do it because it's the law' sorta people to follow the flock.

And what if someones employment dresscode requires them to be clean shaven?

For those who wish to participate thats fine. But it's a stupid ruling that will bever hold any weight. Enfocing it will be impossible..
