STREAMLINENET - stay away from them
Hi,
I realy regret that I haven't made a serch over the internet before entering in contact with Streamlinenet.
I've signed up only for a FREE TRIAL couple a months ago and I registered one domain with them. I canceled the tral account after couple a days. (I've asked for a confirmation e-mail that I received and still keep). However with the domain is an entire story... I've asked to be transfered. They made everything not to do it (like entering wrong IPs and nameservers in the whois, not answering e-mails). They never answered the phone... Today, big shock - I found a 65 GBP charge in my account from Streamlinenet.
STAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN FRON THEASE GUYS. The same guys are behind the UK sites GOHOSTING, 3STEPHOSTING.0

REPLY FROM STREAMLINENET
REPLY FROM STREAMLINENET:
We are so sorry to see this account from a customer. Please contact us via: sales@streamline.net and we will look in to issuing this refund straight away.
Just to keep this is proportion. We sign up thousands of new customers each day and pride ourselves on offer very good hosting at the very lowest prices. 99.9% of our customers are happy, however for some reason a few slip thought to net and therefore we have now made it company practice to search the internet every month looking for any customers who have had problems contacting us for any reason and making sure that we satisfy them as best we can.
The Trial User account is designed to allow customers a chance to test our service before they commit their money. This is NOT a way to sly money out of people. It is totally free for 3 months and at any point you can cancel it within the 3 months and incur no cost at all. Even if the 3 months expire and a customer gets billed, if they contact us and we can see that they have never used the service then we will refund the entire amount.
This is 3 months of hosting for free and 99.9% of our customers think its great and either test it, decide its not for them and cancel or they upgrade and continue with the service.
It is so frustrating for us when we see these negative comments and hope that we can resolve these matters ASAP.
Kind Regards,

LOL! I doubt that very much, your not exactly 1and1. Maybe 1and1 wannabes from the complaints about them posted here on WHT but certainly not in either reputation or numbers of clients. Can you really trust a company that responds to a complaint with a lie?
I would not touch them with a bargepole after seeing this and the other thread█ Xcellweb.net - Quality Web Solutions That Work!

When he says a few thousand a day he most likely means a few every few months. Its at least what I thought when I read this because i've never even heard of this company.

I fairly doubt that you guys sign up thousands of new customers each day... Not to mention you are just a year old.
Unrealistic numbers of sign ups.PierreB - Montreal0

Yawn more of the same. Perhaps people need to start paying more for service.

Correction
Hi Guys,
Thanks for responding. Sorry my mistake we sign up thousands of new customers per month, around 50 per day, really sorry for this.
Yes I am a real person responding, my name is Andrew Dollamore the founder of StreamlineNet.
Even though I've been involved in the internet industry for some time I'm fairly new to the hosting forums!
Please let me know if you have any further questions?
Kind Regards,

OK
We use Fasthosts for all of domains on Winows and for a few on Linux. They are great (If you can get round the £60 for My SQL bit!).

You must be one of the most successful reseller's I've ever come across.
I'd beg to differ they are "great". Having used them in the past- and have clients come to me using them, they are plain awful.
Constantly, hourly server crashes, frequent downtime, ASP just does not work. Considering most clients use mysql these days on a linux platform, I find this incredibly fishy.Olly | INX-Gaming

We do not only use Fasthosts. We also Co-locate and are about to do so for My SQL.

No offence, but if you are co-locating your own machines (your col-location phrase regarding my sql baffles me), why are you using Fasthosts?

If you are signing up 50 customers a day, surely you could afford to buy your own Windows box and co-locate that, rather than offer the Fasthosts service, without a decent control panel for your customer, and the previously mentioned poor service. I know if I had 50 new customers a day, I'd be buying a new server a week.
Also, considering the fact Fasthosts DO cap what you use, I find it hard to believe your signups, once again.
If you are getting 50 new signups a day, and you put only 10% of these on Fasthosts, that means in the last year, you have put approximately just under 2000 domains on their system. FOr arguments sake we are probably looking at two dual xeon's worth to host these. So we are talking a minimum £3,000 worth of equipment, not to mention Staff, power, bandwidth, the whole other costs. Their return? £50 / month on your reseller account.
I'm sorry, but this just does not give.Olly | INX-Gaming

Hi STREAMLINENET,
I saw your website (streamline.net) and thought I'd have a look on here, I was VERY interested in your dedicated servers, could you contact me off the message boards (you should be able to email or private message me).

They must have changed since you used them. We host well over 6000 domains with them and find the service to be excellent.
