I too would like to know, ESPECIALLY at serving php pages. I'm told that Apache 2 offers NO speed increase for serving PHP pages but a friend told me that it actually might help.

This is a really broad question. Do you have any specific scenarios that you would like to compare?

I'm not sure what NameSniper is looking for but I'm just looking to see if anyone has done some benchmark tests with both versions to compare the serving of PHP pages to a large amount of users simultaineously.

I should have clarified mine more heh, I'd like to see which version is faster, more stable, and which one uses less resources to serve the same amount of dynamic pages.

For performance I would use Apache 1.3.x
For functionality I'd use Apache 2.2.xServer Surgeon George
