    Movie Review Thread

Well, we have a last movie watched thread, but no thread dedicated to just plain old movie reviews. I personally like to watch five movies a week, but generally try for seven (one a day). I would love to hear what you guys recommend I watch and what you recommend I stay away from (call me selfish ). I'll start this thread with a review and be adding more later!

    Title: Changeling
When I watched it: <3 days.
    Genre(s): Drama, Mystery, Thriller
Length: 141 minutes (~Two hours fifteen minutes of movie)
    My Numeric Rating: 4/10
Review: Changeling was a movie with potential. It had a great plot, but that was it. The star of the movie, Angelina Jolie, was truly able to look like she was physically in pain throughout the entire film. The only issue was that she lacked the necessary emotions to truly sell the act. In addition, the movie was unable to move at the right paces. Within the first ten minutes, Angelina Jolie's son is kidnapped. There is barely any interaction with either of the characters. This led to no emotional bond being created with the son and mother. When the son was kidnapped, I felt almost nothing, where I should have felt sad and sorry. The movie quickly moves on to her struggles. A connection is never made with the main character, and her struggles are truly emotionally unconnectable with. This made for a rather dull and boring movie. I felt that the director went too quickly when more time was needed, and way too slowly when parts could have been done quickly. I would recommend seeing the movie if you have nothing better to watch, but only then.

Nice review. I saw the same movie, and I also disliked it. In particular, the ending was unsatisfying. :/

I actually quite liked not knowing.

I watched Paper Heart tonight, but will not be reviewing it. I recommend it, it's a good movie.

I would give Changeling much higher than that, id say 9/10 for a drama. Just my personal opinion.

I watched the revieied move few years back and while it is not one of the best movies I have see, it deserved at least 7/10 in my books.

Changeling is a true story and I like it. I don't need happy endings in movies. It asks the question just when can a parent move on and accept that her child is not alive.

    Goodstuff:

Limitless -hmm should probably cross post this one to the 'how many hours of sleep do you get' thread. If you like the idea of permanently increasing the cognitive / memory capabilities of the human brain, and think it would be interesting to see how that plays out, check this movie.

13 Assassins -coolest Samurai sword slanging movie I know of, first hour is slow, then it's gotta be something like 'someone dies every 20 seconds' for the last hour. 500 vs 13

Wish I could get the 15 minutes of my life back that I spent watching this before I turned it off:
