Windows host for a SMS gateway

I am looking for a Windows \ ASP.NET 2.0/3.5 \ MS SQL 2005 host to be used to send SMS. I will be hooking to the service provider's gateway through GET /POST HTTP requests. No images, no videos but the site should serve at least 1 million HTTP queries per day.
The requirements are very modest. But I would like a 99.9%+ uptime and User friendly support is a must.

Thanks to WHT, I have got following sites:
    http://www.crystaltech.com/
    http://www.jodohost.com/
    http://www.softsyshosting.com/
    http://www.reliablesite.net/v3/index.asp

Please suggest a good site to host. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

IMHO you will need more CPU power, so you should look for Dedicated Windows Hosting. You should also consider the location of the hosting provider, because it will be also a factor with such traffic.

    Thanks HostingASPNet.

How far can an average Shared Hosting goes?
As this volume will be picked up in coming in some time, I am trying to host it onto Share first and then move on.

What shared host would you recommend?

I'd recommend you to do a quick search for reviews here at WHT for each host that you've mentioned using the search feature on top right corner of the page. This will be best starting point to know about positive & negative points about each host that you are considering.

    Good luck!

In fact I could get so many names from searching the WHT only.
The problem is every one talks of bandwidth and space but no speaks of how many HTTP (GET/POST) requests, the primary form of interface, can a shared server actually serve.

I am interetsed in just very simple HTTP requests, but many of them.

There are 86,400 seconds in a day.

    1,000,000 requests / 86,400 seconds = 11.57 requests per second

    The http part is easy.

The sql will kill you unless your queries are very well written.

The best way to figure it out is to benchmark the app.

Might be best to go for a MS VPS where you can install your own SQL server. Around 1 GB of RAM will be required for this. I assume the site will be making money so it will be worth it for the performance, stability and control. Shared hosting on the whole is a bit of a shot in the dark.

MS VPS is a good idea. Can you suggest a good VPS host?
I was also thinking of Rackspace cloud a.k.a Mosso, but it is too costly.

In Linux we have got a lot like LiquidWeb, I dont know in the MS World.

Which location did you require this in? Windows 2003 or Windows 2008?

Windows 2003 is fine but I would like SQL Server 2005.
    I am working on asp.net 2.0 on .Net 3.5.
How is SQL Server 2005 performance via-a-vis SQL 2005 on a small VPS load.
