    enterprise-level gateway recommendations

    Hi all,

We're currently using LinkPoint but they're not quite reliable enough. Seeing as they are the cheapest option out there, I'm not surprised or disappointed.

Any idea what the big companies use for their gateway? We're looking for something with close to 100% uptime.

    Thanks!

If you process a very high volume of transactions in "bursts", I'd go with Authorize.Net as the gateway. Otherwise, if you don't run many sales simultaneously then any other good gateway will be fine - eProcessingNetwork, Paradata, iTransact, etc.

There are a lot of good gateways out there but for merchants who have very demanding load requirements in terms of transaction velocity - Authorize.Net does a great job of pounding out every transaction without errors or latency.

We ran into this just the other day in fact with a merchant of ours that was pushing through a transaction run rate of about 1 sale per second during one of their big sales promotions. After we flipped them over to Authorize.Net - it was smooth sailing thereafter.

The other thing that is good to know is whether you require any special features on the gateway like built-in automated recurring billing. This is included/bundled with gateways like Paradata, ePN & iTransact but not with Authorize.Net.

Last but not least, you'll want to verify that any 3rd party billing application software you are using is compatible with the gateways that you are considering.

    Hope that info is helpful!
