New Release of free Control Panel( OpenPanel )

    Hello,
Looking for a Cp for general admin tasks i found a New version of a old control panel.
Is the OpenPanel, witch released a new version last week.
    Their press-release:
Today’s the day. We’re releasing OpenPanel 1.0. The project has gone through a lot of changes, in terms of both code and focus. The target audience we have in mind for the 1.0 release is owners of dedicated and virtual servers with limited but specific needs for hosting websites and managing email. This release focuses on Debian 5, we will be adding back packaging for RPM-based distros in one of the following releases.
Go ahead and try it out. We also welcome you to take part in our community, be it either by helping out other people managing their servers through OpenPanel, or by participating in the development of OpenPanel itself, or new modules that add more management options.
To give OpenPanel a shot, grab the packages and get started. We welcome your feedback via Twitter, IRC (irc.oftc.net, #openpanel) and our forum. If you find actual bugs (there are bound to be a few!) please report them via our bugtracker.

The MAc style design is good, but the most important thing is the functionality of the software. I don;t think that it would be fair to compare it to cPanel and Plesk, because they are distributed under commercial license. So we should compare OpenPanel to other free control panels. But it is good to have another alternative.

This looks good for maybe managing a vps. No frills control panel does basic stuff. Doesn't look too bad.

It is good to host 1 or 2 personal websites under VPS. It might be an alternative to Kloxo. But limited to Debian or Ubuntu. I will definitely test it on our local virtual server. Thanks for sharing here.

If I remember there last release was dated 2008, if code isn't rewritten should be quite outdated.

I'll set it up on a test server to see what new they have made over the years.

Installed recommended distribution (debian), done everything by there installation guide, CP didn't finish installing with CP showing it's core errors, looked up on the bug tracker and couldn't find anything, tried minimal debian, same thing.

Guess it doesn't matter what year it was released, it sucked in 2008 and sucks even worse now.

They should have an online demo for us to check it without installing on our server. But the screenshots look good, clean and simple.
