it seems quite serious. I get very few orders but found 2 declined transactions today for the 1st time. that's almost HALF my monthly average. I may switch to Nochex before trying for an expensive merchant account.

Just out of curiosity, did they state what the problem was in the first place?

not that I am aware of. I was talking to a longtime customer of them and supposedly this has happened in the past and it went on for 2 weeks....amazing they are still in business.

If you are in the United States, I would suggest you check out Corey or Russ at http://www.merchantaccounts4less.com or if you are somewhere else, check them out as well. He has helped a number of business associates and friends obtain either a merchant account or third party processing that are not located in the United States

digitallyjustified.com offers solutions for Canadian hosts as well. Paysystems has lost my business because of this and i am going with PSIGate.

If your volumes big enough dont just run from one 3rd party processor to another.
Go for your own proper merchant setup through your business bank. Well worth it in the long term.

Are there any merchant account options for companies from other parts of the world such as Europe ?

Im sure there are merchant opportunities for business in many countries, just speak to your local bank.
We're in the UK and moving to an HSBC solution who our business bank is with.

Up until now they've never kept settlements from us while having a problem. This is a new turn for the worst for them so we're looking at our options pretty closely.

matt, i'm with hsbc too but the merchant account didn't look too attractive. it costs £25 a month, and add to that the cost of the gateway at around another £20 and the combined transaction charges of almost 5% + 40p it's just not a viable solution for many. how are your costs breaking down?

efunc, I think we got a better deal. I didnt work it out. They did send a representative to the office and spend a large amount of time going through it all with us.
I dont mind paying slightly higher for a quality service (unlike paysystems) but im pretty sure we got a pretty attractive deal.

yeah, i'm pretty sure if you're pushing higher volumes you'll get a little price break.
I think this sector is only just begining to get competitive though in the UK so prices are still relatively high.
