It would only be illegal if they acted as if they were Joe's trying to deceive people. If they are forwarding to their brand on a completely different domain you will have a very hard time proving anything in court. I also believe that this doesn't fall under the cybersquatting law.
Just contact them and buy out the domain.

Surprised they haven't commented on this thread.
While I don't know the full story behind this, if it was in-fact them and everything that's pretty harsh. As far as I know you used to get bandwidth from them? That's kind of like trying to steal a resellers customers now that hes grown into something bigger and better.
