McAfee anti-spam nightmare... PLEASE help :(

I have contacted mcafee numerous times via chat support to resolve this troublesome problem however their chat support is absolutely TERRIBLE. The guy I chatted with earlier didn't seem to know a thing whatsoever, unbelievable.

My problem is the mcafee's anti-spam is blocking TONS of legitimate email and sending these emails into my spam folder and I'm deleting them by accident... VERY important business emails! I get hundreds of spam per day... it is very difficult and time consuming to not accidentally delete legit email that was placed into the spam folder in error. This is causing a MAJOR problem for me.

For example... let's say that somebody who has the email address bob@bobsbiz.com cannot email me because his email gets put into my spam inbox. So what I did was added his actual website domain www.bobsbiz.com into my mcafee "friends" list. This was SUPPOSED to no longer label him as spam and I should be receiving his emails now but I'm not. It's STILL labeling his messages to me as spam even though I told mcafee his domain www.bobsbiz.com is safe!!!

When you enter a domain name www.bobsbiz.com it's supposed to allow ANY and ALL email associated with that domain (anything@bobsbiz.com) into your inbox and not label it as spam. Macfee told me this was supposed to work but it obviously does not. That's the first problem I'm having.

    -----------------------------------------

Second problem I'm having (this is what I'm REALLY having a problem with) is that do you see the form I have on my website here:

    www.jpwear.com/retailinquiry.html

When customers fill out that form (it's a php script)... it then emails me the info however this idiotic mcafee is placing all those emails into my spam folder and I can't make it stop!!!
I was told by mcafee chat support to simply add www.jpwear.com into my "friends" list in mcafee however this is NOT working! This is ridiculous and I am EXTREMELY frustrated and fed up!

It's like I can't get a solution to this SIMPLE problem. I've been trying for two weeks now! How can I specify to this lousy mcafee porgram to NOT mark these messages as spam???

The mcafee chat support told me that there is no solution to these problems and that I have to live with it. Then they finish with "We apologize for the inconvenience". Are these people on crack!!???

Please somebody help me before I wrip whatever hair I have left on my head out

    P.S- I use outlook express.

Try www.mailpure.com for your anti-spam. It's a third party system and costs $1.50/domain. Works very good and you don't have to use McAfee.

Probably not what you want to hear, but it looks as though the solution is to remove Mcaffee. If support is unhelpful, and the program not doing it's job properly, then the best idea is to get rid of it. Surely there are other programs out there that can do the same job, only properly?

Have you heard of a program called "ihatespam"? I won a copy last year and didn't have a use for it. If you can PM me a mailing address, I'll send it to you if you want, no charge. Maybe it will work better than your present software? From the sound of it, it can't be much worse, eh?

Thanks for the responses. Yes, this mcafee chat support is pretty lousy. Last night I chatted with a tech and he told me that when entering a domain into the friend list that I MUST enter the www prefix when adding the domain. That I must type www.example.com and NOT example.com... but today when I chatted another tech he told me the opposite and to not add the www prefix. Everytime you connect to chat with a different tech they all say something different! So I'm going to try adding it without the www prefix and hope that fixes one of the problems.

But this is the BIGGEST problem... mcafee does not support ssl urls. You guys saw the form I had on my website at www.jpwear.com/retailinquiry.html right? That form is NOT on secure ssl URL so I should be able to simply add jpwear.com into my friend list and mcafee should NOT label those emails as spam anymore.

BUT here's the problem: I have many forms like that but they are on secure URLs like this for example: https://secure28.vosn.net/~example/form.html ... when customers fill out the form located on secure URLs such as that for example then mcafee ALWAYS places those emails into my spam folder. There is NO solution to fix this which is crazy!

Because mcafee does not support secure ssl URLs. This is a HUGE problem because I have many of such forms that must be located on secure ssl URL's and whenever custoemrs fill out those forms I never receive the info in my inbox because it gets labeled as spam and then I accdientally delete these VERY important emails

    bear & ayksolutions,
Do you think your programs would allow me to unblock those secure urls if your program did start labeling it as spam?

The one I'm sending is not one I've used personally, sorry. I personally use a combination of Spamassassin and local filtering using Mailwasher and Eudora. Still see some spam, but AFAIK, I'm not losing any. No complaints from anyone, so I'm pretty confident.

I haven't seen such a good mail classifier as Mozilla Thunderbird. Would you try it instead of Outlook Express?

Besides, there are other ways of spam protection. One could be Cloudmark Desktop, another SpamPal or Spamihilator.

Actually you are entering it wrong. You are not supposed to enter www.domainname.com you are to enter just domainname.com. If you enter www.domainname.com in your whitelist it should add all addresses like *@www.domainname.com which is why the other isn't blacklisted.

It also sounds like you have the settings set for very strict which I think you can adjust yourself.

PS. Just re read your post that Mcafee said to enter www. but I think that is incorrect.
