    Hosting for around 100 sites

    hey all ,
    right now i am using anything i can find from the shared hosting forums and with coupon etc i am paying 3-10$ per site / per year
    i am looking into consolidating those
    so lets say i have 100 sites what are my good options ?

    since i sell these sites , i would like the hosting accounts to be on different accounts , with cpanel etc

    can someone guide me a little bit ?

    Have you tried reseller hosting? So you can create separate cpanel accounts for each websites..

    As Four4 has said, reseller is the best option if you require different accounts for each site.

    Where do you want the server to be located? How much bandwidth and space do you think you will need?

    Also take a look at the reseller offers.

    Location : US preferred but anywhere is good as long as the site loads up fast for US customers ( we target US markets for our sites )

    Space: 5GB is more than enough
    BW: 1000-2000 visitors per month is expected
    for wordpress sites

    Sounds like to me that you'd save a lot of money just buying a dedicated machine with a decent amount of bandwidth and a Cpanel license.

    Currently:
    100 servers @ $3-10 -> ~$600/m ?

    Your own solution:
    Dedicated server (1gbit) + Cpanel -> Max $250/m

    Hi, who told you that? You are currently paying 3-10$/year per site? So if you have 100 sites that's 300 - 1000$ a year right?

    Have you already considered a reseller package? You can take a dedicated server but it's not necessarily needed.

    I think it will be enough dedicated server for 150-200 usd per month. I have almost 40 sites with 3000-4000 hosts per day, and I'm using medium dedicated server for just 100 usd per month.

    May be it's not good to "have all your eggs in one bag", but why not? If you will make a backup per day, that's suitable variant.

    Get a dedicated or VPS, at 100 clients you can start to build something profitable.

    Yeah, would definitely make MUCH more sense to have all sites under one roof. The convenience and efficiency would be a huge plus being able to manage all sites under one control panel. You could even build the server with raid, use cloudflare, etc and you would most likely see the best reliability you have ever seen as of yet.

    However, if each site has a max of 2,000 visitors a day. Thats 200,000 a day, thats a bit much for a reseller account so not sure why anyone is suggesting that. You would just be asking for the provider to suspend your account. At the very least get a VPS, but dedicated would be the way to go here and you would still be saving considerably.

    That is very low RAM for 100 sites, you should have at least 16GB, how many cores did you have on that CPU? Most likely over shared resources as well. so even if they assign you a core you might only have 50% utilization of it. This is why you had problems with the VPS. Any info on the disk's they used for the node? 7200rpm, 10k, 15k or SSD?

    Yeah, it should be better, at least with dedicated the host can't share allocated resources with others.

    It's not his clients or clients at all. Their all sites that he owns and that he sells.

    Ah, well same difference really. At 100 sites regardless of client, development or business production sites. Might also consider a colo if budget permits.
