Wordpress powered site not showing in search

I am having a problem where a WordPress powered site is not showing up in Bing or Google. The site is prairiedogblues.com. I think robots.txt seems to be fine. Any suggestions?

Seems like robots.txt is doing something, and google has seen your domain. run a robots.txt verification. I'd suggest signing up with google webmaster tools and it has one and you can see indexing errors etc.

A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txtlearn more.

Guess your website is very new.
Try adding google analytics tracking code and verify website in google webmaster tools.
Also submit your website in search engines.

Kindly let me know if you have any conflicts to my points, let take it further.

You can try submitting it to Google, or maybe you have select option robots not to index your website.

The website is NOT new and submitting the site to search engines will do NOTHING

duh? The site is INDEXED just fine:
    https://www.google.com/search?q=site...edogblues.com/

I see it ranked first for Prairie dog blues festival
    https://www.google.com/search?q=prai...blues+festival

I don't see any ranking problems at all. What do you think the problem is? What are you expecting it to rank for?

cbpayne, thank you for the informative response. It was not showing up at all before.

In a real duh moment, somehow the setting in Wordpress to block search engines had gotten turned on. After turning it off the search rankings returned within a few days.

Have you already tried creating sitemap of your web site?
I've heard that it is easier for Google spyders to crawl your pages.
    Is that true?

    First step:
Make sure you have allowed search engine to crawl your wordpress website.
    Code:
Wordpress Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading >> Search Engine Visibility
    Second Step:
    Install Wordpress sitemap plugin.

    Third Step:
Join Google webmaster tools and submit your website and sitemap.

Word press powered site not showing in search

so does it work after changing your privacy setting to "allow my site to be indexed by search engines", anyway try registering your sitemap file and also try webmaster tools of google.
get links inward through social networking sites
The best of all is to give fresh, unique and relevant content in your site.

Add Google Analytic in your website and add install Google webmaster tool as well. It will help you find a way around. Also, share some of your page on social media networks.

Please explain how this would have helped with the problem that the site had? Do you actually read threads before posting in them?

To be fair, Webmaster Tools may actually help you with any indexing problems. For example it would whine about robots.txt blocking the site (which was identified as the original problem in the posts above). But you're right: adding Analytics isn't relevant, and just dropping these names will not help at all.

  16. You should try building some high quality back links to your web site. You want to make sure you create great unique content and then find others to help you to promote it. Make sure you register the site and sign up for Google webmaster tools and Bing. Keeping adding great content and you will probably be listed soon.
