    * Cheapest Space + Power in the USA

    I really don't need any bandwidth. 5Mbps @ 100Mbps would be fine.

What I need is a full cabinet with 30A @ 208V or 220V (~5000W usable) in the United States. The power doesn't need to be redundant at all.

Which DC has the best pricing for power and space in the USA?

Corexchange's online prices are $732/month for this plan. I'm wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives.

    Any input?

It can be anywhere in the USA as long as it has cheap power and space.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, isn't there some deal with taxes when operating hardware in Texas? Like if you have hardware that's considered a physical presence and you have to pay state taxes?

    Is that the case?

Most counties in the USA have property taxes anyway. It's just that TX is... a bit more serious about it.

But yes, there are taxes involved.

I think the cheapest power you're going to find in the US is North Dakota.

Compare Vegas and other Tier II markets

Vegas is a good and competitive market, but look in other secondary markets as well. Consider 3 or 4 actual bids. The issue with published online prices is they often come with one 120v/20a circuit. 5-6 KW is going to be quite different.

Despite the fact that you want to be cheap, being too cheap can lead to false economy and your gear is at risk. I would still look for a reputable facility that is at least n+1 on power. Anything less is just not responsible colo. Also consider local providers in the markets with smaller space as opposed to those with national footprints. They'll be more competitive.

That is not necessarily true for all parts (counties) of TX.

For cheap yet reliable power look at TX, Arizone and Nevada.

Vegas has fairly cheap power depending on what facility your looking at. Also no matter where you look you'll want make sure they have multiple generators in the event of a power failure.

$700 is a fair price for a full cabinet. You need to check whether it includes any power. Pay attention on the pricing of: a) remote hands; b) power; c) other add-on services. It is also a good idea to ask the Colocation provider about their networks.

What about remote hands, how do you plan to manage the servers?

I can do cheaper in my garage, it sometimes floods though. How cheap do you want to go? Cheap as in the roof might fall in, cheap as in staff are under paid, or cheap as in your equipment might get stolen?

Lets get real. $732 for a full rack and 30amps 208v is a steal.

Bump. 30A isn't cheap in the first place, but 208? I mean $732 is def a steal.

If you go any lower I'd think there's serious concerns about security. Why would you put $10,000 into servers and host them in a cheap cabinet/colo? Seems like security should still be of utmost concern regardless your redundancy needs.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. It's certainly a steal.
