Can you pipe a program from one cPanel account to another?

As the question says "Can you pipe a program from one cPanel account to another?", my host says no, whmcs says yes, me confused.

If your host is utilizing SuPHP, then writing to another users /home directory shouldn't be possible.

If they're utilizing open_basedir, then any PHP applications should not be able to do this, either.

What method of PHP is the host running and what are you trying to do? I almost guarantee this is not something you should want or should be able to do.

To remain secure, no. You would have to open up permissions for one account to access things in the other account.

I just want to get emails from support@site2.com to go into whmcs which is at site1.com

WHMCS said I can do this using pop3 mail but everything I try keeps failing and WHMCS and my host keep giving me different answers.

Setup a forward from support@site2.com to generic email address of site1.com
then pipe from the generic email address to site1's pipe php

It'll pick up the proper mail queue based on the to address.

I do this with various help desk software: kayako v3, v4, vision

I did as you said and that seems to have worked, the email actually showed up in the correct support department which was a supprise.

However when I tried to reply to the email, I didnt get the message.

I have also stopped recieving email notifications telling me I have a new support, and didnt recieve one as a client either. This seemes to be happening with both accounts so looks like I have some kind of WHMCS problem.

I would suggest you to get your host to look through the exim logs first before contacting whmcs and see if anything was sent to your test client account after you have setup the piping.

My host has looked into it and can't seem to find any issues, they sent a test email and I even got a message saying a new support ticket had opened, but when I try I still can't.

In WHMCS under incoming mail log I am getting "Blocked Potential Email Loop" so this may be the problem. But I have tried editing the settings with no luck.

Strange, well without knowing your setup I can't really be anymore help than what I have already said.

I guess time to email WHMCS support

Well it got sorted (kind of) I creted a free email account with mail.com and forwarded the emails to these and I started getting every message.

I knew that WHMCS or my mail server hated my AOL email address, well it apears it also now hates my gmail address now as well

Anyway thanks for your help, especially for the mail forwarding suggestion as "I think" its now working ok.

Try setting the SMTP on your WHMCS to use an external server.
