    Question htaccess guru help needed...

    Greetings all,

I'd like to use my .htaccess file to hide the direct link to downloads from dropbox.com. Basically, I'd like

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/93647457/DCT...12040702WP.zip

    to appear as

    http://mywebsite/download-DCT12040702WP.zip

Or anything similar. Is this possible? and if so, how would I do it?

    Thanks

Oops, please disregard.. it was easier than I thought.

    RewriteRule ^(download/.*) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/93647457/DCTfiles/$1 [L]

    did the trick.

    Thanks for all your help!

You could also try something like this.

    Code:
    Options +FollowSymlinks
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^grab http://dl.dropbox.com/u/93647457/download-DCT12040702WP.zip

    Thanks RD..
I copied yours down for reference. Mine does what's needed but I like to keep notes on these things. Take a look at http://DirtCheapTemplates.com. Nobody would ever know I'm using DropBox.com

LOL... okay, so most nubes would never have a clue

But anyway, I'm not hiding it so much as limiting direct access.
