help in choosing a web host please

Asking for help in choosing a web host. Hoping you guys could recommended a hosting provider with good uptime and customer service and reliablity.

I want a dedicated server, want to stream a videos, and a radio station with about 10-15 listeners constant throughout the day.

    Need mysql/php database support.

Need at least 100mbs port,(would like 1,000 though)

Ample bandwidth (around 1TB or so) or disk space since I will be providing several audio downloads.

Anybody have some links for providers that can handle what im looking for? My budget is no more than a strict $200/month

also is a plus if the new host can help with the transfer of my old site to the new one

You can look for HOSTGATOR...they provide you something more than what you require for your budget...check the standard dedicated server it gives you 10 TB bandwith

You can also check 1AND1 and also check with SOFTLAYER

If you are looking to get serious and $200 is your true budget and you want a server with a company who cares and will pretty much help you with anything take a look here

    http://www.hostgator.com/dedicated.shtml

All the servers are 10tb which will support your bandwidth needs for the shoutcast and I have a server and am pretty happy with it.

The best part is the reliability of the biggest datacenter in the world (Softlayer) and the fact that there are people to assist you 24/7.

    My personal recommendation ...

I highly recommend limestonenetworks (LSN) Clint at LSN can help you get started. $200 should do it with them, they have a lot of servers under that price range if you take a look at their site, and normally providers can offer custom deals too

This I do not know, I always tend to stay above 6gb of DDR3. My current setup for web hosting is:

    dual xeon 5506, 12gb ddr3 ram, 4x600gb velociraptor 10k rpm hard drives with raid10

    so far tests are smooth

can someone help me explain of where having 2 disk drives is better than one? like whats better, a 500gig drive, or two 250gig drives?

Two drives is better choice for sure. you sever will be faster and you can store the non-system files separately for security purpose.
