Sorry to hear your negative experience. I have been there and done that.. I can't stand yearly signups. I will never do it again with an unknown host.

Wish you best of luck with your next host, and hopefully a better experience.

What site do you host/did you host with them?
Why did you choose Preston host?
How fast did they answer your support tickets? Did you try live chat, phone call?
Took a look - they offer 1 Gb space and 10 Gb bandwith for 1$/month. An illustration to "you get what you pay for"?

Honestly I'd not sign up for a year with any provider right off the bat - I'd go monthly for a month or two first and then if I felt a years worth of hosting wasn't too big of a risk, I'd do it then.

I hears they have an issue with cloud and cloudlinux.

From your reply, it seems that they are outsourced.

I also got an info from one member here that their "cloud" is hosted by semoweb.

Both dustin and faris is kinda active here. They will surely reply on this.

Yes, they're both fairly active and seem like they would be running solid hosts.

Recently I've caught a few bad reviews and complaints about PrestonHost, not sure what the deal is going on with them.

How do they define "cloud"? FYI using CloudLinux does not mean that it is running a "cloud" setup at all.

Maybe growing too fast because of their very cheap offers and now having some problems to manage customer support and their increasing number of servers and webhosting services.

It's not easy to maintain a good service level when a company is growing very fast.

It's not easy, but very well possible. It seems their customer service is fine, it's their downtime that I see being the biggest issue.

We are having problems with servers from EZPZHosting, Semoweb and lastly our Juliet dedicated server. The positive review was because the client was hosted on our most stable servers which have been running without reboots since it was first deployed. That is why you might see different type of reviews at certain time.

We have been emailing all Juliet clients constantly regarding the server downtime. We updated each of every news regarding Juliet server on our twitter. As of today, we install Nginx to improve the server performance. As far as I am concern, our techs said that there are no complains regarding downtime since the last reboot. From what I know, this client is from a Cloud Reseller with us until we stopped the service and move him to Juliet server which was stable at first. Right after that, the server went crazy.

We have no problem with support, the only problems are the servers which are having issues right now. Let me just state some, US6,Juliet Server,Cloud3. Other clients are not affected. We are doing best to make sure that downtime will not occur, but since we are resellers - there isn't much we could do from our end but to slowly talk with our host to improve the service. We are still working hard to monitor each second of the progress on Juliet dedicated server which we have full root.

You can drop me an email at Faris[at]prestonhost.com if you have any quiries

Have you considered just asking them for a refund on the remaining balance you have left on your account?

How is it possible for 65% downtime? That means our server have been down for more than a month.

Well technically if you cancel your account you should be entitled to a prorated refund. Have you asked them about this?

They won't. I paid for 3 months and I'm only on the first month now. I asked for a refund for the remaining time and I was told I agreed to the TOS that said no refund after 3 days.

You as a web host should be smarter than that, if they offer 3 day money back then guess what that is?

Previously this was the setup because I saw an ad in the Cloud Offers forum by them yet it only stated Cloud Linux. cPanel+Cloud Linux on a VPS or Dedicated does not equal Cloud (We all know this, but the consumer may not.)

Semoweb doesn't offer Cloud hosting? They are a CloudLinux Official Distributor (according to their website).

Too many people confuse CloudLinx for CLOUD HOSTING. CloudLinux alone does not provide any Cloud benefits, only minimizes the impact of one account consuming a ton of resources from affecting other accounts on the same server.

I was not telling the OP to request a full refund, I was simply asking them to ask for a refund, which is something I believe any legitimate web host should offer.
